Michael J. Leyden

Michael J. Leyden is an investigator at Cloud, Feehery & Richter, Inc. Prior to joining CFR in 2004, Mr. Leyden was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for twenty-six years. During his career with the Bureau, Mr. Leyden supervised and conducted investigations involving sophisticated white-collar crime, securities fraud, insurance fraud, and organized crime. Mr. Leyden was the principal investigator in the case known as the Rouse extortion, which involved an attempted one million dollar shake down of Philadelphia Developer Willard Rouse by LCN boss Nicodemo Scarfo and Philadelphia City Councilman Leland Beloff. He also was the principal investigator in the RICO conviction of Scarfo and seventeen members of his crime family, and the attorney for Scarfo, Robert F. Simone. After retiring from the Bureau, Mr. Leyden was the assistant Vice President for Corporate Security and Surveillance at Caesar’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Mr. Leyden holds a B.A. from St. Joseph’s University and a Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University.
